Wow, so many projects going on all at once! Scaffolding is up, painting the ceiling currently, marble buffing, new carpet installation and now the sidewalk is being ripped up! It is renovations time at the Florida Theatre!
This process began on August 17th and will finish up in time for our season opener- Smokey Robinson on September 21st. Along with this great performance will also be a great unveiling, recognizing the first phase of our capital campaign. The sidewalk under our marquee will soon be path of recognition that will last forever! We are all very excited to see the end product- make sure you get your tickets today for this special event and concert.
Last week Katie and I went to the top of the scaffolding (70 feet high!) to get a feel for what these painters are doing up there. All I can say is WOW, it is high up there and yes, I was scared! It was an extremely special and cool experience to be up there, literally touching the ceiling and to witness some great history. Make sure to check out our album on Facebook and the previous post to this one with our video.
Along with all the great improvements we are making to our beautiful theatre, we are also busy working to get some great shows lined up for the 2009-2010 season! Take some time to look through the events tab, there really is something for everyone.
And check back next week to our site, because like our theatre, the homepage is getting a facelift too!
Have a great weekend!
